Beck Buechel

Beck Buechel is a mezzo-soprano based in Chicago, IL. They received degrees in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University and The University of Wisconsin-Madison. They are passionate about new works of all kinds, recently appearing as Leonetta in Hildegard: The Rupertsberg Tour, a new musical about the life of Hildegard von Bingen, Rocky in Night Tide with The Towle Theater, a new musical inspired by a campy, 1960s horror movie of the same name, and as Imogen in the workshop performance of Imogen with New Moon Opera, an opera based on Shakespeare's "Cymbeline" and written by Elizabeth Rudolph. They also perform drag and burlesque as Mx. O'Lydian. In 2021 they produced a virtual Gilbert and Sullivan drag show, and they are currently working towards forming a drag variety show focused on operetta and musical theatre.
